Here's to JK Rowling...

Yesterday, J.K. Rowling revealed that Albus Dumbledore was gay. It's a gutsy move, and I'm impressed. (Far more impressed than I was by the final Potter book, actually.) I'm sure it will lead to some book burnings, but it also means some kids might grow up a little less prejudiced.
That said, it makes me wonder about some other fantasy characters.
When asked his opinion about the Dumbledore revelation, Mr. Samwise Gamgee of Bag Shot Row, Hobbiton declined to comment on the subject. Instead, he showed off his lovely wife Rosie, and then began to talk about the evils of psychiatry and the plight of Scientologists in Rohan.
Meanwhile, Capt. Jack Harkness -- a resident of Cardiff Bay -- remarked "You people and your quaint little categories."

P.S.: I thought the script to the Pillowman was very good, the acting was a bit flat for me at first but improved as the night went on, and the set was good.
P.P.S.: I'm enjoying Schulz and Peanuts by David Michaelis. It bears striking similarities to the project I'm working on.
