Well, the flight wasn't too bad. They had some empty seats and so moved people in the middle to another emptier row. Then, the person in the isle seat wanted to be moved to near her family. So, I got the whole row to myself. Even before that, the Air Transat seats weren't as bad as I feared. But then after losing 14 inches off my waist, all seats seem roomier.

The plane arrived early, and I was able to catch my super-cheap ticket to Cardiff - only 5.50 pounds, cheaper than the train from Gatwick to London. On the train to Cardiff, I met an old acquiantance, one of the professors and so we chatted for a bit.

When I got in, I found my hotel wasn't all that great. Decent for the price if it were London I suppose, but I expected Cardiff to be a bit cheaper. It looks like someone attempted to repair the cracked basin in my sink about 5 years ago and it's still showing the scars from a botched operation. Still I'm not that picky, and so I suppose it's livable. But then I haven't slept in the bed yet.

Then I toured the Doctor Who Exhibition in town, and walked around Roald Dahl Plass - featured in Doctor Who and Torchwood. Unfortunately, the Plass was somewhat sealed off. So, I didn't quite get to stand where I'd like. Although I did stand where Capt. Jack said goodbye to Martha and the Doctor in the series three finale. Maybe I'll explore more of Doctor Who Cardiff more thoroughly.

I had dinner with the professors and had a thoroughly good time - chatting with nice, friendly, intelligent people. One of my closest friends at the conference, Lorraine, didn't even recognize me at first because of the weight I lost since the last conference. So, that was good for my ego.

I feel human again.
