I am not a number ... I am a free man!
Apr. 1st, 2007 10:32 amWell, likely only for another 22 and half hours. Sigh.
My contract expired at work last Friday, and no one really got their butts in gear to renew it. (I was given some reassurances.) So, technically speaking I am a free agent in the universe once again.
Presumably I'll be forced back into servitude tomorrow. Of course, I was hoping to get another job right now, as that would have put me in a nifty position to ignore the two weeks notice requirement. But oh well...
Of course, there's always a chance that work won't renew my contract or make me a permanent lackey. I can see upsides and downsides to either outcome. I am tired of working for the Sheriff of Nottingham. (Mostly the annoying new Keith Allen Sheriff from the 2006 BBC Robin Hood, with one specific aspect of Nickolas Grace's sheriff.)
I am starting to think about lining up some informational interviews with places where I'd like to work, to see what's required.
